Xpertise Recruitment have welcomed Bobby Corbyn to their London Contracts Team, Joseph Evason to the Manchester team, and Joe Boyd to the Derby team. We wanted to find out a little bit more about our new team members and find out why they joined Xpertise Recruitment.

Meet Bobby…

Name and background

My name is Bobby & I am the new Head of Contracts @ Xpertise, specifically focusing on the South. I am responsible for driving further success to an already established Contract Division & my main goal is to build out and grow a Contract Division capable of dominating within Xpertise’s Technical niches.

Whilst I was travelling across Southeast Asia, I stumbled across the wonderful world of Tech Recruitment by bumping into an internal recruiter (for a Recruitment firm) on a boat to Phi Phi and have loved it ever since. I love the challenge Recruitment offers and most importantly I love that every day is different and that you can quite simply change your life by working hard and succeeding!

I am a very proud Dad to the most beautiful little girl I have ever laid my eyes on. She is my world, and she is one of my main drivers in life to be the best version of myself. Ultimately, I am a family man first! I have a beautiful fiancé who I will be making a Corbyn very soon and would love to have more children as long as I can financially give them everything they’d ever want for.

Huge, huge Arsenal fan and generally a big Football fan overall – there would typically be a game on in my house on most days.

Why did you choose Xpertise?

After over 10 years within Tech Recruitment within one Group, I was introduced to Xpertise who were looking to bring someone in to steer and fight to grow their Contracts Division. As soon as I met with Mike, Julian, Dawn & Richard I was determined to come on board. Their vision and overall Recruitment knowledge were the main factors that appealed to me most, as although I bring a lot of experience to the table, I am still super keen to learn and expand upon my overall recruitment repertoire.

It was also very convenient that Xpertise’s core markets were aligned with my previous successes, whereas I have placed multiple candidates within the Cyber, InfoSec, Infrastructure, Cloud, DevOps, Data, Software Development & Project Delivery space in the past.

Tell us an interesting or funny story about yourself…

In my younger years I used to run my own club nights in Kent (every Thursday) where we used to get Z list Celebs to come down to attract punters. In short, I made it possible for girls in the Bexley area to meet Dane Bowers, Callum Best & Arg etc..

Hello, I'm Joseph from Altrincham, Manchester. I'll be the first in the Manchester office to specialise in the Data industry. I enjoy playing golf and taking my dogs for walks.

I chose Xpertise Recruitment because I felt an instant connection with the people in the company from the very first day of applying.

Exciting, Interesting, Nervous

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

If I had to choose one meal to eat for the rest of my life, I would opt for something simple to avoid getting bored. I would start with pita and dips, followed by a beef burger for my main course and chocolate cake for dessert!
 

Meet Joe…

Name and background

Joe Boyd from Nottingham. Just returned from America where I went to University out there for 7 years while playing football, where I gained my undergraduate and master’s degrees. Joining the product delivery team in the East Midlands. In my spare time, I enjoy playing football spending time with family and friends, and trying to travel as much as possible.

Why did you choose Xpertise?

I chose recruitment for the competitive, high-intensity environment. Everyone I had spoken to before the role was really welcoming and friendly but still had the drive for success individually and as a team.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you take and why?

Football to keep me entertained, Fishing rod because I love seafood and entertainment and My phone to listen to music.
