Xpertise Recruitment has recently launched a brand new career site, dedicated in attracting talented and motivated individuals to join their team. Xpertise won ‘ Best Recruitment Company to work for Under 10M‘ last year at the Recruitment International awards, and have recently been named finalists for ‘ Best Specialist Recruitment Company’ in the Global Recruiter Awards 2018.
The new career site gives an insight into what you could get involved with and achieve if you join the team. The site explores what you can be doing inside and outside the office, such as quarterly incentive trips, clear career development paths, social meet ups and annual charity challenges.
Xpertise are proud sponsors of Agile Leicester meet ups, and last Thursday we attended, alongside 50 others ‘ Improvisssssing With Agile’ with key speaker and certified Scrum Trainer Paul Goddard.
If you didn’t get chance to attend, or need a quick reminder, Philip Newby, Recruitment Consultant here at Xpertise talks about the key points he took away from the interactive session..
Graduate placements are becoming more and more popular. Many universities give students the option of taking advantage of a year working in a specific industry as part of their degree. Although this may sound like another way of elongating the ‘ student life’, that’s far from the truth. Completing a graduate placement year can provide invaluable work experience, which will be well noted with future employers and help these individuals stand out from the crowd when applying for permanent job roles after graduation. It can also help in cementing future career paths, and sometimes even secure a permanent role at the end of it.
We spoke to James Whitehead, Xpertise’s graduate placement student to find out why he decided to take a year in industry, what he enjoys and what he thinks he has learnt…
5th April marks the second International Recruiters Day across the globe. This day specifically promotes and celebrates the work of recruiters.
To mark this special day, we thought we would share a video with you on why our employees love working at Xpertise Recruitment.
Xpertise were humbled in November 2017 to win the Best Recruitment Company to Work for in the UK up to £10m at the National Recruitment International Awards, beating off competition from 100+ competitors. These awards are voted for by “recruitment industry” business leaders past and present and are recognised as the most prestigious of all recruitment sector industry awards. Xpertise believe this is the first time ever that a recruitment firm based in the Midlands has won this award.
Founder and Managing Director at Xpertise Recruitment, Richard Harrison recently spoke to Recruitment International about what the latest award win means for the company, and how Xpertise Recruitment is no ordinary recruitment agency.
Richard explains “Honestly speaking, I was very emotional. It meant a great deal to me and came as a very pleasant surprise. To see that other experienced recruitment sector business leaders recognised what we were doing was very humbling.”
Watch Ailsa’s story to find out what she thinks about working in recruitment, and why she enjoys working at Xpertise!
” Before I started, I thought that recruitment was about bottom lines and being chained to your desk: It’s really about people and that’s why I love it.”

Happy New Year
Today is the first day back in the Xpertise office and there is that New Year buzz about the place, even on this gloomy January day.
2018 promises to be a huge year for Xpertise Recruitment and hopefully are clients, candidates and colleagues, keep watching this space for what we have planned.
2017 certainly was a fantastic year for those involved with Xpertise, why not have a scan down this post to see just a few of our highlights!!
In November 2017 we were incredibly honoured to be named The Best Recruitment Company to Work For (up to £10M) by Recruitment International Magazine. This was a hotly contested category, and we came out ahead of some very strong and reputable firms. Needless to say we now have a taste for competing in these awards and hope to be up for a few more in the coming year…and who knows, we may even host our own Tech awards..!
Full story available here.
One of our highlights is getting out of the office to see what is going on in our industry. We are passionate about the Technology, Development and Project Management Sectors; as a result over 2017 we organised and attended over 85 MeetUp events across the Midlands and London. That’s al ot of pizza!!! But we see this as just a drop in the ocean and hoping to attend and organise many many more industry focused events over the next 12 months…
In November we hosted our Annual Leaders in IT MeetUp in Nottingham. We invited IT and Tech leaders from across Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and the West Mids to the fantastic Antenna venue. Those who attended were treated to dynamic and informative discussions lead by some of the industry’s premier thought leaders.
Couldn’t make it, or want to relive the evening take a look at our video here:
We conquered the 3 peaks of Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon in under 24hrs in June. Then in October some of the team slept out in Birmingham to raise money (over £1500 as a company) and awareness of child homelessness.
Looking forward to 2018 we want to continue to support the life changing work of Action for Children and are looking at setting more challenges and raising even more!!!
Xpertise Recruitment ventured down the M1 and now proudly boast an office in the heart of the City. Headed up by London Director, Julian Harrison, this new office in Moorgate gives us a prime location to engage with our clients and candidates in the capital.
Aside from moving into a new city pad, one of the London practice’s highlights was hosting their DevOps meetup. Take a look at what they got up to here:
All in all, we had a pretty exiting year, but this is just the start – 2018 will be bigger and better!!!
Happy New Year from the Xpertise Recruitment Team.
