Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Cloud Services

Hybrid | Up to £75,000 + benefits

Locations: Guernsey, Jersey or Isle of Man

Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in virtualisation, cloud platforms and enterprise infrastructure? Do you enjoy designing complex solutions, working directly with customers, and shaping the evolution of cloud services? If so, this is an opportunity to join a forward?thinking Cloud Services team and play a key role in the architecture, delivery and operations of cutting?edge cloud platforms.

They are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take technical ownership of cloud services spanning IaaS, DR, backup, networking, virtualisation and security technologies. This is a hands?on, senior role where you'll influence future strategy, lead delivery of enterprise?level solutions, and support the full lifecycle from design to third?line support.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing, deploying and supporting cloud infrastructure platforms including VMware, Nutanix AHV, HPE VME, KVM?based technologies and Azure Hub.
• Administering and supporting Windows, Linux, SQL and associated technologies.
• Working across SDN, virtual and physical networking with platforms such as Cisco, Arista, Juniper and firewall technologies including Fortinet or Cisco.
• Acting as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues, providing expert root cause analysis.
• Delivering infrastructure consultancy and supporting customer onboarding to cloud services.
• Contributing to continuous improvement, automation initiatives and capacity/performance planning.
• Preparing technical documentation, proposals, statements of work and supporting commercial engagements.
• Collaborating with security teams to ensure compliance with security standards and best practice.
• Participating in an out?of?hours on?call rota.

What You'll Bring

• Expert-level knowledge of enterprise infrastructure including compute, storage, virtualisation and security technologies.
• Strong experience with backup, replication and DR solutions (e.g. Veeam, Zerto).
• Professional certifications such as VCP, MCSE, CCNP or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
• A proactive, problem?solving approach with strong organisational and time?management skills.
• Minimum 5+ years in senior infrastructure engineering or systems administration roles.
• Knowledge of ITIL, ISO27001 or PCI?DSS is advantageous.
• Ability to mentor others and champion best practice across the team.
