Data Engineering Lead

Salary up to £130,000
South East of England with regular travel between different sites

An opportunity to join a growing industrial group undergoing significant digital and platform transformation.

This role sits at the centre of two strategically linked priorities. You will build and operationalise a modern internal data platform across established operating businesses, while also acting as data architecture authority for a new product platform. It is a rare chance to shape both enterprise data foundations and a scalable, AI ready external platform from first principles.

The Role

You will design and deliver a group wide cloud data platform capable of ingesting operational, commercial and technical data at pace. Early focus will be on establishing core ingestion patterns, data models and a small number of high impact BI dashboards to demonstrate tangible business value.

Alongside this, you will define the target data architecture, integration standards and governance model for a new product platform. You will act as technical authority when working with third party delivery partners, ensuring quality, scalability, security and cost control.

This is a senior hands on role combining architecture, delivery and leadership. You will own the full data lifecycle from ingestion and transformation through to governance, security and consumption.

What We Are Looking For

Your experience includes Microsoft Fabric, advanced Power BI, real time architectures, lakehouse patterns, AI ready data preparation, CI CD and exposure to high volume telemetry or industrial domains.
