Senior Backend Developer (Node.js / TypeScript)
Cheshire East (3 days onsite)
Up to £90,000 + bonus + benefits

We’re supporting a global technology business as they continue to scale a complex, multi-product SaaS platform used across international markets.

They’re looking to bring in a Senior Backend Developer who can take real ownership of services, contribute to technical direction, and help drive the evolution of a modern, cloud-native platform.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in designing, building and running backend services within a large-scale microservices architecture. This is a hands-on position with a strong emphasis on ownership, problem-solving and delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.

You’ll also work closely with other engineers to guide best practices and help shape how the platform continues to evolve.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
• Take ownership of services from design through to production and ongoing support
• Contribute to architectural decisions across a distributed system
• Lead by example within the team, promoting high standards and best practices
• Work collaboratively in a cross-functional Agile environment
• Identify improvements and drive initiatives to enhance performance, scalability and reliability

Tech Environment:

• Node.js, TypeScript
• AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Docker, Terraform
• CI/CD pipelines (GitLab)
• PostgreSQL / MySQL

What They’re Looking For:

• Strong commercial experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience building and running microservices at scale
• Solid understanding of cloud-based architectures (ideally AWS)
• Comfortable taking ownership and driving work forward independently
• Experience mentoring or supporting other developers
• Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to delivery
