Data & Power BI Consultant (FTC – 9 months)
London Hybrid £70,000 pro rata (~£52.5k total) Fixed-Term Contract Temp-to-Perm Potential
A dynamic and growing financial services business is seeking a Data and Power BI Consultant to join on a 9-month FTC. This is a key role in a business-critical data transformation programme, with the opportunity to influence how data is structured, used, and understood across the organisation.
You will work closely with data leadership, business stakeholders, and external partners to help drive the development of a centralised Data Warehouse, deliver strategic reporting via Power BI, and embed a stronger culture of data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Data & Analytics Delivery

Lead the development of Power BI dashboards and advanced data reporting (including SQL).

Collaborate with external Data Warehouse partners: gather business requirements, support development, and conduct UAT.

Prioritise data ingestion and publication based on strategic goals.

Support the development and ongoing evolution of the business’s data framework.

Ensure compliance with GDPR, financial regulations, and internal data governance standards.
Stakeholder Engagement

Engage cross-functionally with teams including Operations, Projects, Front Office, and Compliance.

Translate business needs into actionable data and reporting solutions.

Promote data literacy and value across the organisation — from C-suite to end users.
Mentorship & Leadership

Work closely with internal data leads and support the upskilling of junior team members.

Act as a senior voice within the data team, helping shape workflows and technical standards.

Foster a collaborative, performance-driven team environment.
What We're Looking For
-
5+ years of experience in BI and data warehousing, ideally within financial services.

3+ years of hands-on Power BI experience (Power Query, DAX, data modelling).

Strong skills in SQL and data transformation.

Comfortable working with external vendors and internal stakeholders alike.

Familiarity with financial services platforms (e.g., CRM, portfolio/risk tools) is advantageous.

Understanding of UK data compliance and regulations (e.g. GDPR, FCA).

Strong communicator with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.Nice to Have

Experience with tools such as Pulse, XPLAN, Bita Risk, PowerApps, or First Rate.

Knowledge of AI or automation in data workflows.

Experience supporting regulated environments (asset/wealth management).
