Location: Birmingham (Hybrid / 1 day a week onsite)
Salary: £80,000 - £85000 per annum
I'm supporting an organisation looking to appoint an Enterprise Architect to provide strategic architectural direction across business and technology initiatives.
This role acts as the integration point across programmes, ensuring that projects align to business priorities while progressing the organisation toward a modern, stable, and scalable enterprise architecture.
This is a pragmatic Enterprise Architecture role, balancing governance and standards with practical delivery. You'll translate business strategy into structured architectural roadmaps, influence senior stakeholders, and ensure technology decisions support long-term capability development.
Responsibilities
- Translate business vision and strategic goals into clear enterprise architecture artefacts and roadmaps
- Establish and govern architectural principles, standards, and frameworks
- Align initiatives across Business, Data, Application, and Technology domains
- Chair technical design authority and provide oversight across programmes
- Influence new business and technology initiatives from inception
- Provide architectural consultancy to solution and delivery teams
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture models, standards, and governance processes
- Ensure alignment between architecture, portfolio investment, and strategic priorities
- Drive continuous improvement across enterprise architecture practices
Experience / What you bring
- Significant experience operating as an Enterprise Architect in complex environments
- Applied experience across two or more EA domains (Business, Data, Application, Technology) with working knowledge of all
- Strong understanding of how architecture enables and supports business value
- Experience aligning business strategy to capability roadmaps and technology plans
- Background establishing and applying architectural principles and governance
- Strong stakeholder influence and communication skills at senior level
- Enterprise Architecture certification (TOGAF or equivalent)
- Strategic thinker with a pragmatic approach to delivery and accountability
