Job role
Workplace Technology Manager (12-month FTC)
Location: Hybrid (on-site required for key project phases)
Salary: £63,000 per annum
I'm supporting a well-established organisation undergoing a significant workplace transformation programme, where the focus is on delivering a modern, high-quality end-user environment across office and collaboration spaces.
This isn't a BAU support role. It's a hands-on, design-led position where you'll take ownership of how workplace technology is specified, implemented, and delivered across a major expansion project.
You'll act as the technical authority across end-user environments, working closely with suppliers, project teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure solutions are fit for purpose, scalable, and aligned to user needs.
What you'll be doing
- Define and validate workplace technology standards across devices, desk setups and office environments
- Design and specify meeting room technologies (Teams Rooms, AV, collaboration tools)
- Oversee wireless design, access point placement and network readiness
- Review and challenge supplier proposals to ensure quality, value and technical alignment
- Provide on-site technical oversight during installation and commissioning phases
- Ensure strong focus on user experience, accessibility and ergonomic design
- Support structured cabling and switching requirements across the environment
- Produce clear technical documentation for handover into BAU
What we're looking for
- Strong experience in workplace / end-user technology design and delivery
- Hands-on knowledge of M365, Microsoft Teams and Teams Rooms environments
- Experience with AV and meeting room technology (cameras, audio, displays, etc.)
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (wireless, switching, cabling)
- Experience working on office fit-outs, refurbishments or large-scale rollout projects
- Comfortable working with and challenging third-party suppliers and contractors
- Able to operate independently in a delivery-focused, project environment
This role would suit someone who enjoys owning the technical detail, working closely with delivery teams, and shaping how workplace technology is implemented rather than simply supporting it.
