Senior Data Engineer | £80–90k | Hybrid (3 days/week in City of London)

Join a newly formed innovation team at the heart of a major data transformation initiative. We're hiring a hands-on, forward-thinking Senior Data Engineer to help architect and build a scalable data platform that powers strategic growth across the business.

What You'll Do

• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage

• Build robust ETL processes and ensure data integrity across platforms

• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, accessible data

• Optimise infrastructure performance and support analytics use cases

• Champion best practices in version control, testing, and data reconciliation

️ Tech Stack & Skills

• Azure Databricks, SQL, ETL tools, version control (e.g., Git)

• Programming in Python, Java or Scala

• Familiarity with data integration tools (APIs, JSON, XML, Web Services)

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP transferable)

• Strong grasp of data architecture, performance tuning, and security

Background & Experience

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Maths, Engineering or similar

• Experience in financial services or wealth management is a plus

• Comfortable leading small projects or mentoring junior engineers

• Curious, commercially aware, and driven to deliver results

Location & Working Pattern

• Hybrid: 3 days/week in our City of London office

• Salary: £80,000–£90,000 depending on experience
