Are you an experienced data scientist who enjoys solving complex business problems and influencing strategic decisions at a senior level?

We're looking for a technically credible and commercially minded data scientist to join a high-growth AI and advanced analytics team delivering impactful work for some of the UK's largest organisations. This is an opportunity to combine hands-on data science with stakeholder engagement, leadership and real business influence.

You'll work with senior client stakeholders to tackle complex challenges, shape analytical approaches and lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering innovative AI and machine learning solutions. Rather than being buried in long-term transformation programmes, you'll help create rapid, high-impact solutions that demonstrate value and inform critical business decisions.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of data science, machine learning and AI solutions for complex business challenges.
Develop advanced analytical models and decision-support tools using Python and modern data science techniques.
Translate ambiguous business problems into structured analytical approaches and actionable recommendations.
Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and communicate technical concepts clearly to executive audiences.
Lead project workstreams and provide guidance to junior data scientists and analysts.
Drive the development of proof-of-concepts, prototypes and demonstrations that help clients validate opportunities quickly.
Champion the effective use of AI tools and emerging technologies across engagements.
Contribute to practice growth through thought leadership, capability development and identification of new opportunities.

Requirements

Strong academic background in a STEM discipline or equivalent quantitative field.
Significant commercial experience delivering data science, machine learning or AI solutions.
Outstanding problem-solving skills, analytical thinking and statistical foundations.
Advanced Python skills and experience with modern data science tooling and libraries.
Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior non-technical stakeholders.
Experience leading projects, mentoring team members and managing stakeholder relationships.
Proven ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, client-facing environments.

Desirable Experience

Consulting, advisory or professional services experience.
Experience applying AI and advanced analytics within a specific industry sector.
Exposure to technologies such as LLMs, RAG, Databricks, MLflow and modern AI tooling.
Track record of building prototypes, proofs-of-concept or innovative products that demonstrate business value.
