We're recruiting for a Senior Software Developer (PHP) for our client based in the East Midlands and we have been awarded the sole supplier for the build of this team.

This role involves building digital services that meet user needs and comply with the Digital by Default service standard, working in Agile teams to deliver high-quality software.

Activities include:

• Creating and maintaining bespoke large applications using PHP and Typescript.
• Developing user-focused digital services
• Collaborating in Agile teams (Scrum)
• Unit testing, version control (Git), and work tracking (Jira)
• Supporting documentation and knowledge sharing
• Developing and mentoring junior developers

Must-Have Experience

• Enterprise-Level PHP Development – Proven experience building and maintaining complex, scalable systems.
• Frameworks – Hands-on expertise with Zend, and/or Laravel.
• Database Skills – Strong command of MySQL, including query optimization and relational data modeling.
• API Integrations – Experience designing and integrating with RESTful APIs in a production environment.
• Cloud-Based Environments – Familiarity with deploying and maintaining applications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Version Control – Solid Git workflow knowledge for collaborative development.

Office: Nottingham or Birmingham | Hybrid working 

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + strong benefits

Benefits include: 30% pension contribution + 25 days AL (increases by 1 each year up to 30)
