Director of IT – Lead Transformation & AI Innovation | UK-Based | Public Sector Services

Are you a strategic IT leader ready to drive real change?

Xpertise Search is partnering with a purpose-led organisation delivering high-impact public services across employment, health, learning and recovery. As they enter a pivotal phase of transformation, we’re searching for a Director of IT to lead the integration of complex systems, embed AI innovation, and shape a future-ready tech strategy.

This is not a BAU role. It’s a chance to:

• Deliver meaningful transformation across four business units
• Deploy and evolve AI tools that support frontline professionals
• Rationalise and integrate legacy platforms into a unified architecture
• Lead with empathy and impact in a regulated, people-first environment

You’ll be working directly with the UK CEO, leading a small internal team and managing strategic vendor relationships. The tech stack includes Azure, Snowflake, Dynamics, Power Platform, and bespoke case management systems — with AI and automation at the heart of future plans.

We’re looking for someone who blends strategic vision with hands-on delivery, thrives in complexity, and brings a collaborative, human-centred leadership style.

Location: UK-based with flexible working and regular presence in East Central England
