We’re working with a well-established, fast-growing technology business that has evolved from a UK SME into a truly global organisation operating across multiple continents. Their products support thousands of customers worldwide and sit at the heart of a critical, customer-facing platform.
As part of continued growth, they’re looking to hire an experienced Development Manager to lead a highly skilled, multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for a core software application.
The role
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of a development team working on a large-scale, business-critical platform. This is primarily a people- and delivery-focused role - your leadership experience matters far more than prior exposure to specific languages.
You’ll work closely with Product, Delivery, and Operations to align priorities, drive quality, and ensure teams are set up to succeed. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be expected to step in during critical situations, remove blockers, and keep delivery on track.
Key responsibilities

Line management of a highly technical, cross-functional software engineering team

Creating a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement

Working closely with product and delivery stakeholders to align technical delivery with business goals

Recruiting, mentoring, and developing engineers at different stages of their careers

Running performance reviews and providing clear, constructive feedback

Actively contributing to agile ceremonies and improving ways of working
