Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data Scientist to join a leading aviation organisation, working on innovative MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) AI solutions. You will be embedded within a major airline environment, building advanced analytics and machine learning models designed to scale across multiple European operating companies.
This role is ideal for a Data Scientist with strong Python, AI/ML, and production‑grade modelling experience who thrives in fast‑paced, high‑impact projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop predictive and prescriptive models to support MRO AI solutions.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and statistical modelling.
- Work closely with Data Engineers to ensure data availability and readiness.
- Translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
- Continuously improve deployed models based on operational performance.
- Build reusable and scalable AI components suitable for deployment across multiple OpCos.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency in Python, including ML frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Advanced knowledge of AI/ML techniques, optimisation, simulation, and GenAI.
- Operational Research and Optimisation experience is essential
- Proven ability to take models from design to production—including monitoring, optimisation, and integration into business processes.
- Strong analytical, statistical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across operational and technical teams.
- Experience in aviation, engineering, or supply chain analytics is highly desirable.
Preferred Consulting‑Level Competencies
- Ability to frame and solve complex business problems.
- Strong storytelling and presentation skills for senior stakeholders.
- Experience in high‑impact consulting or transformation projects.
- Track record of delivering rapid value in new environments.
- Experience building scalable AI frameworks for enterprise use.
