Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data Scientist to join a leading aviation organisation, working on innovative MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) AI solutions. You will be embedded within a major airline environment, building advanced analytics and machine learning models designed to scale across multiple European operating companies.

This role is ideal for a Data Scientist with strong Python, AI/ML, and production‑grade modelling experience who thrives in fast‑paced, high‑impact projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop predictive and prescriptive models to support MRO AI solutions.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and statistical modelling.
  • Work closely with Data Engineers to ensure data availability and readiness.
  • Translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve deployed models based on operational performance.
  • Build reusable and scalable AI components suitable for deployment across multiple OpCos.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong proficiency in Python, including ML frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Advanced knowledge of AI/ML techniques, optimisation, simulation, and GenAI.
  • Operational Research and Optimisation experience is essential
  • Proven ability to take models from design to production—including monitoring, optimisation, and integration into business processes.
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across operational and technical teams.
  • Experience in aviation, engineering, or supply chain analytics is highly desirable.

Preferred Consulting‑Level Competencies

  • Ability to frame and solve complex business problems.
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in high‑impact consulting or transformation projects.
  • Track record of delivering rapid value in new environments.
  • Experience building scalable AI frameworks for enterprise use.
