Principal Data Scientist – Operations
West London | Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Up to £105,000 + 15% bonus + benefits
We’re hiring a Principal Data Scientist to lead the delivery of high‑value, production‑ready data science solutions across complex operational environments.
You’ll own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of data science products, lead and mentor teams, and work closely with senior stakeholders to turn data into actionable, business‑critical insight.
What you’ll do
- Lead delivery of predictive modelling, optimisation and decision‑support solutions
- Shape ambiguous business problems into scalable data science products
- Design, build and support production data and ML systems
- Provide technical and people leadership within Agile teams
- Ensure governance, quality, security and ethical data practices
Technical requirements
- Excellent SQL development experience
- Strong expertise in cloud‑native data ingestion, processing and storage
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, dbt or similar PaaS/SaaS tools
- Knowledge of data modelling, optimisation and enterprise‑scale data management
- Expert in data processing, testing and monitoring frameworks
- Experience supporting production data systems, CI/CD pipelines and Agile workflows
- Strong understanding of information security, access control and data protection
- Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
