Python Engineer

9-Month Contract | Inside IR35 | Circa £650 per day UK Remote | Occasional West London Office Visits FTSE 100 Client | Immediate Programme Demand

We are seeking an experienced Python Engineer to join a leading FTSE 100 organisation on an initial 9-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension.

This role offers the opportunity to work on two business-critical enterprise programmes, helping to develop and enhance scalable cloud-based solutions within a complex, large-scale environment.

The position can be fully remote within the UK, although occasional visits to the client's West London office may be required for key workshops and stakeholder engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality Python applications and services
• Build scalable and resilient cloud-native solutions within AWS
• Develop and optimise SQL-based data solutions
• Support infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering and business teams across multiple critical programmes
• Drive engineering best practices, code quality and automation standards
• Contribute to solution design and technical decision-making within a large enterprise environment

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience developing applications using Python
• Advanced SQL skills
• Proven experience working with AWS
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerised environments
• Strong knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles
• Experience building and deploying solutions within enterprise-scale environments
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and CI/CD methodologies
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills

Essential

• Recent experience working within large enterprise or FTSE-scale organisations
• Proven track record delivering on complex, business-critical programmes
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Available to start within the next month
