Type: Permanent
Overview
This is a specialist Microsoft 365 role with a clear focus on the real-world introduction, governance, and adoption of Microsoft Copilot across a complex organisation.
The role sits at the intersection of technology, security, information governance, and user adoption. You will own Copilot as a service, from readiness and configuration through to controlled rollout, adoption, optimisation, and ongoing evolution - ensuring it delivers measurable business value while operating safely within identity, security, and information governance constraints.
Approximately 70% of the role is Copilot-focused, with the remaining 30% centred on improving the wider digital workplace capability to maximise Copilot effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Microsoft 365 Copilot (Primary Focus)
- Own the end-to-end Copilot service lifecycle, ensuring controlled, secure, and well-governed introduction and use
- Lead readiness activities across identity, permissions, and information access to ensure reliable Copilot behaviour
- Define onboarding, access models, and usage patterns for Copilot and Copilot Agents
- Act as the technical point of contact for Copilot-related issues, leading investigation, root cause analysis, and problem resolution in collaboration with platform and operations teams
- Work with business stakeholders to drive meaningful adoption and demonstrate practical business value
- Set clear expectations with users around Copilot capabilities and limitations
- Embed responsible AI, data privacy, and information governance principles into Copilot usage guidance
- Build strong working relationships across security, risk, information governance, architecture, cloud operations, and external technology partners
Digital Workplace Capability & Adoption
- Identify and lead digital workplace improvements within Microsoft 365 that directly enhance Copilot effectiveness
- Drive adoption of Microsoft 365 features to improve collaboration, productivity, and information quality
- Define and publish clear guidance on effective information management and collaboration practices
- Ensure user behaviour aligns with good data and information management standards
- Capture usage insights and feedback, using this to inform continuous improvement
- Design and deliver workshops, drop-ins, and engagement sessions using hands-on technical examples
Experience & Skills Required
Essential
- Practical experience deploying, enabling, or operating Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 in a comparable organisation
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 identity, permissions, and information access and how these impact Copilot behaviour
- Experience with Copilot Studio and/or Copilot Agents, including governance and lifecycle considerations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Graph, and Microsoft Search sufficient to diagnose issues and validate outcomes
- Experience operating in security-, privacy-, or compliance-aware environments
- Proven experience supporting user adoption, capability uplift, or change-focused initiatives
- Ability to translate technical constraints into clear, practical guidance for non-technical audiences
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving and environment validation
Desirable
- Experience applying responsible AI, data protection, or information governance principles within Microsoft 365
- Experience analysing usage or adoption data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Experience producing training materials, guidance, or champion networks
- Familiarity with Agile or iterative delivery environments
- Experience working closely with architecture, security, or platform engineering teams
Why Apply
