Network Project Manager (WAN/LAN)
Solihull or Manchester area | Hybrid (1 day per week onsite) | £65,000 - £75,000 | Excellent benefits package
Are you an experienced Network Project Manager with a strong background in WAN and LAN delivery? Do you thrive in fast paced environments where you're trusted to take ownership, manage multiple client engagements, and deliver complex multi-site networking programmes?
This is an opportunity to join a growing technology services business delivering large scale connectivity projects for a diverse customer base across the UK. The role sits within a small, high performing project delivery team and offers significant exposure to senior leadership, reporting directly to the CEO.
Why Join
- Report directly to the CEO and play a highly visible role within the business
- Work on large, technically complex networking projects across multiple sectors
- Join a small project team where your contribution has a genuine impact
- Enjoy a varied workload with significant autonomy and responsibility
- Be part of a growing organisation with strong long-term career prospects
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of WAN and LAN networking projects across multiple customer environments
- Manage programmes involving large retail estates, healthcare organisations, educational institutions and other multi-site operations
- Oversee multiple concurrent projects, typically managing 5-6 active projects initially and up to 12 at any one time
- Coordinate internal technical teams, third party suppliers and customer stakeholders
- Produce and maintain all project documentation, status reporting, risks, actions and governance materials
- Manage project timelines, budgets, dependencies and delivery risks
- Chair customer meetings and provide regular progress updates to senior stakeholders
- Drive projects forward in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly
Requirements
- 5-10+ years experience delivering complex WAN, LAN & SD-WAN infrastructure projects
- Strong technical understanding of both Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Local Area Networks (LAN)
- Proven experience managing large scale, multi-site networking deployments
- Background within a Managed Service Provider (MSP), Internet Service Provider (ISP) or similar customer facing technology services environment
- Excellent stakeholder management and customer communication skills
- Comfortable managing a high volume project portfolio in a fast paced setting
- Able to work independently and take ownership of documentation, reporting and project administration
- Formal project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent
Desirable Experience
- Delivery of networking projects across retail, healthcare, higher education or similar multi-site environments
- Exposure to network transformation, migration or refresh programmes
- Experience working within smaller delivery teams where flexibility and initiative are essential
Important Suitability Criteria
This role is specifically suited to candidates with deep WAN and LAN project delivery experience. Applicants whose background is primarily focused on cyber security, wireless networking, fibre deployment, or other specialist technology areas without significant WAN/LAN project management experience are unlikely to be a match.
The ideal candidate will have worked within a services led technology environment supporting multiple external customers rather than solely within a large end user organisation.
