Test & Measurement IT Systems SME

Contract | 3 months initially | Midlands | Hybrid (once a fortnight) | £600pd (Outside) | ASAP Start

We're looking for an experienced Test & Measurement IT Systems SME to join a major manufacturing organisation on an initial 3-month contract.

You'll provide specialist expertise across test beds, instrumentation, data acquisition and the IT systems supporting engineering test environments, helping deliver next-generation IIoT, low-code/no-code and test solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide SME expertise across Test & Measurement IT systems.
• Configure, troubleshoot and provide Tier 3 support for complex solutions.
• Translate engineering and business requirements into practical, enterprise-aligned solutions.
• Work closely with engineering, operations and senior IT stakeholders.
• Support IIoT, edge data, low-code/no-code and emerging AI capabilities.
• Coach and share knowledge with the wider Test & Measurement team.

Requirements

• Proven SME-level experience with Test & Measurement IT systems in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Hands-on experience with test beds, instrumentation and data acquisition .
• Experience supporting physical product development and test processes .
• Practical experience with IIoT and/or low-code/no-code solutions .
• Strong troubleshooting and Tier 3 support experience.
• Ability to translate business and engineering requirements into functional IT solutions.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and senior non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working within a governed enterprise IT/architecture environment .

Desirable: Experience with AI/ML in industrial or test environments, and technical coaching or mentoring.
