Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced QA Lead to drive quality assurance strategy and delivery across a complex higher education environment, with a strong focus on Ellucian Banner. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will shape and scale test automation using Playwright while ensuring best-in-class QA practices across the full SDLC.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will shape and scale test automation using Playwright while ensuring best-in-class QA practices across the full SDLC.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver the QA strategy across multiple Ellucian Banner workstreams
- Lead the design and implementation of automation frameworks using Playwright
- Establish and enforce QA standards, processes, and governance
- Collaborate with engineering, delivery, and product teams to embed quality throughout development
- Oversee test planning, execution, defect tracking, and reporting
- Mentor and support QA engineers, providing technical leadership
- Drive continuous improvements in automation capability, tooling, and coverage
- Ensure robust integration, regression, and end-to-end testing aligned to release cycles
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a QA Lead or Senior QA Engineer in complex delivery environments
- Strong, demonstrable knowledge of Ellucian Banner (essential)
- Hands-on expertise in Playwright automation
- Experience building and maintaining scalable automation frameworks
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern QA methodologies
- Experience with API, integration, and data testing
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience in higher education or similarly complex, regulated environments desirable
