Staff Engineer – Backend (Python)

Salary: £100k–£130k + equity & benefits Location: Hybrid – 3 days/week in Central London (once office secured)

What You’ll Do

• Architect and scale backend systems to handle millions of workflows in real-time.

• Deliver sub-second performance across thousands of concurrent operations.

• Lead technical innovation and guide a senior engineering team.

• Design APIs and service architectures for complex, multi-agent AI platforms.

What They’re Looking For

• 12+ years backend engineering experience, with expert-level Python.

• Proven track record in SaaS and start-up environments.

• Deep systems architecture and performance engineering expertise.

• Experience with async Python, distributed systems, and high-performance databases.

Nice-to-Have

• TypeScript/Node.js exposure.

• Background in AI/ML platforms or workflow engines.

• Experience in regulated industries and cloud/containerized deployments.
