West London (Hybrid, 3 days per week) | Permanent: £130,000-£160,000 + Bonus + Pension + Travel Benefits | Contract: £1,100-£1,400 per day (Inside IR35)
We're supporting a FTSE 100 organisation on a major technology and operational transformation programme. They are looking to engage experienced Portfolio Product Managers to lead strategic product investment, prioritisation and delivery across large product domains.
This is a senior leadership role sitting above traditional Product Manager positions. You'll own a portfolio of products, shape long-term investment decisions and work directly with executive stakeholders to determine where the business should focus its time, resources and budget.
Success in this role is not measured by backlog management. It is measured by your ability to identify the initiatives that create the greatest business value, influence senior decision-makers and drive meaningful outcomes across a complex, operationally critical environment.
About the Organisation
You'll be joining an organisation undertaking significant investment across technology, digital products and operational transformation. The environment is fast-paced, complex and often ambiguous, requiring strong commercial judgement, stakeholder management and decision-making capability.
Why Join?
- Opportunity to shape strategic investment decisions across multiple product areas
- Major transformation programme with significant long-term funding
- Direct exposure to executive and senior leadership stakeholders
- Ownership of high-profile initiatives with measurable business impact
- Strong package including bonus, pension and travel-related benefits
Responsibilities
- Own the vision, roadmap and investment priorities across a portfolio of products
- Evaluate competing business requests and determine where investment will generate the greatest return
- Work closely with executive stakeholders to align product strategy with organisational objectives
- Balance commercial, customer, operational and technical considerations when making prioritisation decisions
- Lead and influence Product Managers, Product Analysts and delivery teams across multiple workstreams
- Build robust business cases and strategic recommendations for senior leadership review
- Manage dependencies, risks and trade-offs across product portfolios
- Ensure products and initiatives deliver measurable business value and strategic outcomes
- Drive alignment between business, technology, operations, finance and procurement teams
Requirements
- Significant experience in Product Management, Portfolio Management or Transformation Leadership roles
- Proven ability to operate at enterprise scale and influence senior executive stakeholders
- Strong commercial acumen and experience making investment and prioritisation decisions
- Experience leading complex transformation, digital or operational improvement programmes
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively within highly matrixed organisations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, supported by data-driven decision making
- Experience working across business and technology functions
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within McKinsey, Bain, BCG or another leading consulting organisation
- Aviation, travel, logistics, transportation or operational transformation experience
- Experience managing large product portfolios within enterprise environments
- Exposure to technology modernisation, digital transformation or platform programmes
- Experience within FTSE 100 or similarly complex organisations
