PMO Assurance Manager

Leeds (Hybrid - Onsite Once Per Month) | Full-Time | £650 per day (Inside IR35/PAYE) | 3-Month Contract | BPSS Required

We are seeking an experienced PMO Assurance Manager to play a key role in ensuring projects across a large technology portfolio are delivered in line with established delivery, governance, and assurance frameworks. This is an excellent opportunity for a PMO professional with extensive portfolio oversight experience to influence delivery quality, governance standards, and strategic outcomes across complex transformation programmes.

Our client is undertaking significant technology and business transformation initiatives and requires a seasoned PMO leader to provide assurance, insight, and governance across multiple delivery workstreams. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, delivery teams, and PMO professionals to improve predictability, performance, and value realisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assure performance across technology delivery projects and programmes
• Operationalise and provide guidance on technology delivery and governance frameworks
• Conduct project assurance reviews, audits, and delivery health checks
• Identify delivery trends, risks, opportunities, and dependency impacts across the portfolio
• Facilitate governance forums, assurance reviews, and portfolio boards
• Oversee portfolio reporting, ensuring accurate and timely delivery insights
• Lead and develop PMO team members, fostering a high-performing culture
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery quality and predictability

Essential Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience working within PMO functions, including leadership of PMO teams
• Strong background supporting complex technology transformation programmes
• Proven experience delivering portfolio assurance, governance, and oversight activities
• Advanced stakeholder management skills with experience engaging senior leadership teams
• Strong reporting and portfolio performance management capabilities
• Experience using Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project and portfolio planning disciplines

Desirable Experience

• Experience implementing or enhancing PMO governance frameworks
• Background in large-scale enterprise change or technology transformation environments
• Experience managing portfolio-level risks, dependencies, and benefits realisation
• Demonstrated success driving PMO process and capability improvements
